Custom & NFC Order Policy
How we design, approve, program and fulfill custom fabrication, personalized products and NFC-enabled products.
Last updated: September 13, 2026
Automate Effect specializes in products that combine physical fabrication with customization and digital functionality.
This policy applies to custom fabrication, personalized products and NFC-enabled products.
1. What Is a Custom Order?
A custom order includes a product created or modified specifically for a customer.
Examples include:
- Custom business signs
- Custom displays
- Logo products
- NFC products
- Custom keychains
- Branded items
- Custom enclosures
- Custom tags
- Custom plaques
- Prototypes
- Modified dimensions
- Customer-specific colours
- Custom text
- Custom 3D models
- Products manufactured from a customer's sketch, image or idea
2. Design Proofs
Certain custom projects may include a digital proof, model, render or mockup before production.
The proof is intended to allow the customer to review the proposed product before manufacturing.
Digital renders are approximations.
The physical product may appear slightly different because of:
- Lighting
- Display settings
- 3D-printing characteristics
- Material properties
- Filament colour variation
- Manufacturing tolerances
3. Customer Approval
When approval is requested, carefully review:
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Names
- Logos
- Phone numbers
- Website links
- NFC destinations
- QR codes
- Colours
- Dimensions
- Layout
- Positioning
- Quantities
- Other customization
Once approval is given, production may begin.
Changes requested after approval may result in additional charges.
4. Customer-Supplied Logos & Content
By providing Automate Effect with a:
- Logo
- Trademark
- Photograph
- Illustration
- Design
- Artwork
- Business name
- Text
- Other content
you confirm that you have the right or permission required to use that material.
You grant Automate Effect a limited right to use the submitted material only as reasonably necessary to design, manufacture and fulfill your order.
We will not claim ownership of your logo or customer-supplied intellectual property.
Automate Effect may ask for separate permission before publicly featuring identifiable custom work in marketing or portfolio material.
5. File Quality
Customers are responsible for providing reasonably usable artwork.
Low-resolution, blurry, distorted or incomplete files may affect the finished result.
We may request a better file before beginning production.
Vector artwork is preferred where appropriate.
6. NFC Programming
NFC-enabled products may be programmed to open or provide information such as:
- Websites
- Google review pages
- Booking pages
- Social media profiles
- Digital menus
- Contact pages
- Digital business cards
- Wi-Fi information
- Custom landing pages
- Other supported destinations
Customers are responsible for verifying that information and links supplied to Automate Effect are correct.
7. Incorrect NFC Links Supplied by Customer
If a customer provides or approves an incorrect NFC destination, this is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Depending on the type of NFC component and how it was configured, reprogramming may be possible.
Additional shipping or service costs may apply if physical return of the product is required.
8. Reprogrammability
Do not assume that every NFC product can be rewritten by the customer.
Some NFC configurations may be locked or managed differently depending on the product.
If customer reprogrammability is important, contact us before ordering.
9. NFC Compatibility
NFC works with many modern smartphones, but compatibility is not guaranteed with every device.
Performance may depend on:
- Phone manufacturer
- Phone model
- Device settings
- Operating system
- NFC antenna placement
- Phone case
- Metal surfaces
- Installation position
- Nearby electronic interference
10. Metal Surfaces
Metal can interfere with standard NFC tags.
If you plan to install an NFC product directly on a metal surface, tell us before ordering.
Different NFC components or construction methods may be required.
11. Third-Party Services
Automate Effect products may link to services operated by third parties.
Examples include:
- TikTok
- Booking providers
- Review platforms
- Customer websites
- Social networks
- Digital menu providers
We do not control those services.
We cannot guarantee that a third-party platform will:
- Keep the same URL
- Keep an account active
- Continue supporting a feature
- Maintain a business listing
- Preserve reviews
- Remain continuously available
A later change made by a third-party platform is not considered a manufacturing defect in an Automate Effect product.
12. Custom Order Cancellations
See our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Custom work that has already entered design or preparation may be subject to a cancellation charge.
Once irreversible production begins, change-of-mind cancellation may no longer be available.
